Latah Creek wine wins Best in Class recognition | Business
Local winery, Latah Creek, took top honors last month at the Savor Northwest Wine Competition. The Spokane favorite came home with two gold medals and a best in class recognition.
The Savor Northwest Wine Competition brought together wineries from Washington, Oregon, Idaho and British Columbia for a professionally managed competition at the end of February. A judging panel score the wines in a controlled environment and award them gold, silver, and bronze medals based on their scores.
Latah Creek Winery, a family run winery that opened in Spokane in 1982, is known for their crisp, sweet white wines. At Savor Northwest, Latah’s 2012 Moscato and 2012 Riesling both earn gold medals in their class. The 2012 Riesling was also awarded Best in Class. But the awards didn’t stop there, Latah Creek also brought home three silver and three bronze medals for their other wine varieties.
